Strawberry Cottage Cheese Ice Cream (Ninja Creami Recipe!)
Strawberry Cottage Cheese Ice Cream is a high protein frozen dessert that is super creamy and full of fresh strawberry flavor! Using the Ninja Creami ice cream maker, you will not believe that cottage cheese can taste this good!
Given the fact that I've now posted two cottage cheese ice cream recipes in one week, it's safe to say I'm a little obsessed with it! Since I got my Ninja Creami Ice Cream Maker, I've been making ice cream almost daily. Honestly, it's not a problem when the ice cream is helping me reach my protein goals.
My first Cottage Cheese Ice Cream recipe was a pretty basic vanilla flavor, and now I'm jazzing it up a bit with this version that is full of fresh strawberry puree. While the other recipe also has vanilla pudding mix in it, I kept this minimally sweetened with some maple syrup. It is sweet, but not overly sweet, so if you want your ice cream super sweet, either add 3 tablespoons of vanilla pudding mix or increase the maple syrup!

Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Easy - this strawberry cottage cheese ice cream recipe is super simple and easy to whip up. And there are only four ingredients!
- Delicious - full of strawberry flavor and lightly sweetened with maple syrup!
- Protein Packed - this recipe is naturally a high protein ice cream from the addition of creamy cottage cheese.
Ingredients
Strawberries - I used fresh strawberries, but frozen strawberries will also work. The better the strawberries, the more strawberry flavor your ice cream will have!
Cottage Cheese - I use full fat cottage cheese, also known as whole milk cottage cheese. You could probably use low fat cottage cheese with good results, too.
Milk - I use 2% milk but you can use any type of milk you have on hand or prefer.
Maple Syrup - maple syrup is the main sweetener in this ice cream, aside from the natural sweetness from the strawberries.
Please refer to the recipe card for the complete list of ingredients.
Variations
Different Berry - this would also work well with blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries.
Different Sweetener - instead of maple syrup you can use honey, granulated sugar, agave, or really any sweetener of choice.
Different Type of Milk - I used 2% milk but you can use any type of milk that you prefer.
Add Vanilla - you can add a teaspoon of vanilla extract for warm vanilla flavor.
Step by Step Instructions
Photo 1. Add the strawberries and cottage cheese to a food processor or high-powered blender and blend until creamy. Add the milk and maple syrup and blend until combined.
Photo 2. Add the mixture to a Ninja Creami pint container and freeze completely, at least 24 hours.
Photo 3. Once frozen, add the Ninja Creami pint container to the ice cream maker and select ice cream function and run one cycle. It will likely be crumbly, as in the photo above.
Photo 4. Add 2 tablespoons of milk and run it through the cycle again. If it is still not a creamy texture, run through one more cycle. Serve and enjoy!
Expert Tips
Storage - store leftovers in the freezer in the Ninja Creami pint container or any airtight freezer-safe container. Before eating again, run it through the Ninja Creami to get it back to creamy.
Serving Suggestions - I liked my strawberry cottage cheese ice cream topped with graham cracker crumbs, so it resembled a strawberry cheesecake. Other topping ideas are hot fudge, chocolate chips, chopped cookies, more chopped strawberries, or any type of fruit.
Ice Cream Maker Instructions - if you don't have a Ninja Creami, you can make this in a regular ice cream machine. Be sure the drum of the ice cream machine is frozen. Add the strawberry mixture to the frozen drum and let it churn until frozen.
