Garlic Parmesan Green Beans
Garlic Parmesan Green Beans are an easy green bean side dish made on the stovetop with fresh garlic and grated Parmesan Cheese!
I'm constantly trying to find new side dish recipes that not only Marc and I enjoy, but our kids will eat, too! Green beans are one of the vegetables that has a pretty neutral taste, a soft texture that my kids like, and take on whatever flavor you add to them. Bonus: they are somewhat finger food since they resemble French fries! These Garlic Parmesan Green Beans are super easy to make and so full of flavor from the fresh garlic and grated Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients in Garlic Parmesan Green Beans
- Fresh Green Beans - these green beans are SO good in the summer when green beans are in season!
- Kosher Salt
- Olive Oil
- Fresh Garlic
- Grated Parmesan Cheese
How to Make Garlic Parmesan Green Beans
This recipe is super simple to make and comes together in 20 minutes. To start, trim the green beans. Next, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Add the green beans, season with salt, and then cover. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring often to toss the green beans. Once the green beans are tender, add the fresh garlic, toss well to combine, and cook another 2 minutes. Last, sprinkle in the Parmesan cheese and stir to combine.
Serve, and enjoy!
Fresh vs. Frozen Green Beans
I definitely prefer using fresh green beans for this recipe, but I have used frozen green beans before. They work in a pinch and will take less time to cook compared to fresh green beans! I definitely would not recommend using canned green beans, though.
