Big Mac Sliders
Skip the drive-through line and make your own Big Mac at home! Big Mac Sliders tastes exactly like McDonald's, in the form of cute little sliders! This easy slider recipe is a total copycat recipe and will solve that craving for fast food!
While McDonald's is definitely not a regular meal for our household, as I much prefer to cook from scratch, it has become an occasional occurrence since we've had kids.
I haven't had a Big Mac in years, but going through the drive-through a couple of times for the kids definitely stirred up a craving. My solution? Make them at home! We also love these copycat Chipotle Chicken Burrito Bowls, too! These Big Mac Sliders are SPOT ON and totally satisfied that craving.
This Big Mac slider recipe has everything that we all love about a Big Mac - ground beef patty, the special Big Mac sauce, dill pickles, slices of American cheese, sesame seed bun, and iceberg lettuce!
These easy sliders are so delicious served with crispy French fries and tastes just like a real Big Mac!

Ingredients
Ground beef, finely diced white onion, salt, and pepper - this combination for the burger patties while it is simple, it is classic for a burger. It also lets the Big Mac sauce and other toppings shine.
The key component of Big Mac Sliders, of course, is the sauce! You know I love my sauces, like this Curry Dipping Sauce and my Basil Mayo!
Mayonnaise - I like using olive oil mayonnaise for the flavor and texture.
Yellow mustard - classic yellow mustard gives the Big Mac sauce a tang.
Dill pickle relish - you can also finely chop dill pickles.
Paprika - paprika is dried red bell pepper and gives the Big Mac sauce an orange color and a slightly sweet flavor.
Onion powder and garlic powder - these dried spices add more flavor! You'll be amazed at how it tastes exactly like Big Mac sauce.
Shredded lettuce, sliced pickles, and American cheese - all Big Mac toppings that are necessary! I use a classic shredded iceberg lettuce but romaine is also a good option.
Slider buns, sesame seeds (or sesame seed buns), and melted butter - a Big Mac isn't complete without a bun with sesame seeds!
See recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.
Variations
Swap the meat. If you want, you could use ground turkey instead of ground meat. This will change the flavor slightly, but this recipe will still work with ground turkey.
The buns. If you have a hard time finding slider buns, Hawaiian rolls or any soft buns or dinner rolls would work.
How to Make Big Mac Sliders
Step 1. In a bowl, combine ground beef with very finely diced white onion, salt, and pepper.
Step 2. Press the mixture into a 9x9" baking dish. If you don't have a 9" baking dish, an 8" will work, too. The large ground beef patty is baked in the oven until browned through.
Step 3. While the hamburger is baking, you can make the Big Mac sauce. This secret sauce recipe is addicting and so delicious!
Step 4. Add the ingredients to a bowl and mix together. Store in the refrigerator until you're ready to serve.
Step 5. Place the bottom buns of the sliders onto a baking sheet, and spread with the Big Mac sauce.
Step 6. Top the Big Mac sauce with shredded lettuce.
Step 7. Top the lettuce with the hamburger patties.
Step 8. Add the pickle chips or chopped pickles to the burgers.
Step 9. Add the American cheese slices and the top buns.
Step 10. Brush the buns with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. To finish, the sliders are put in the oven for a few minutes for the cheese to slightly melt.
Serving Suggestions
We served this Big Mac Sliders recipe with some thin, McDonald's-like french fries that we found in the freezer section at the grocery store and it was just like eating the real thing. You could serve them with homemade Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries, Greek Fries, or tater tots!
If you want a lighter side dish option, a fresh Strawberry Arugula Salad would balance out the sliders nicely, or a Caprese Orzo Salad would also be great during the summer.
These are so perfect for game day, a potluck, your next party, or a family dinner. It's also a great easy appetizer recipe! Your whole family and friends are going to love them.
Recipe FAQs
Yes, but not completely I would recommend making the burger mixture and pressing it into the baking sheet in advance. Once you're ready to cook, bake the meat and assemble. You can also make the Big Mac sauce in advance.
Yes. While American cheese is classic in a Big Mac, but cheddar or Colby Jack slices would also work.
These are best the day they are made, since the lettuce will wilt and not be great if heated up. That said, you could scrape off the lettuce, store the sliders in an airtight container and then reheat in the microwave and add fresh lettuce once they are warmed again. A little tedious but better than wasting Big Mac Sliders!

Big Mac Sliders
Ingredients
For the Burger:
- 1 lb ground beef
- ¼ white onion, very finely diced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
For the Big Mac Sauce:
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- 4 tablespoon dill pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Remaining:
- 6 slider buns
- 1 tablespoon butter
- sesame seeds
- Shredded lettuce
- sliced pickles
- American cheese slices
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 9x9" baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef and diced onion. Season with salt and pepper.
- Press the ground beef mixture into the bottom of baking dish.
- Bake or 10-15 minutes, until the beef is cooked through. It will shrink in the baking dish and there will also be a bit of grease around the large beef patty. Use a paper towel to soak up the grease.
- To make the Big Mac sauce combine all sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well to combine.
- Place slider buns on a baking sheet.
- Spread ~2 tablespoon of the Big Mac sauce onto each slider bottom.
- Sprinkle lettuce over the sauce and then top with the burgers and pickles. You can do this two ways - you can either place the large burger patty over the buns as a whole, and then cut them into individual sliders after they are baked, or you can cut the burger patty into smaller patties and place them individually onto each slider bun bottom. Either way works!
- Top the burgers with slices of American cheese and then each slider bun.
- Brush the tops of the slider buns with butter and then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake in the oven for 5-10 minutes, until the cheese has slightly melted.
- Cut into individual sliders, serve with additional sauce, and enjoy!
Notes
- You can prep the beef patty mixture ahead of time. Simply combine the ingredients and press into a baking dish. Cover and refrigerate until your'e ready to bake.
- You can make the secret sauce ahead of time. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
- This recipe can easily be doubled. Simply double everything and bake the patty in a 9x13" pan.
Just like a Big Mac - only better! Delicious sliders made in the comfort of your kitchen with fresh ingredients...and the sauce...chef's kiss!:)
These were amazing! I doubled the recipe and sprinkled everything bagel seasoning on top of half as I didn't have just sesame seeds. Both ways were good. I did blot off the grease after cooking the beef. Will definitely make again. Thanks for the recipe!
So happy you enjoyed them!!
This recipe is so fun and tasty! My family loved it!
our family loves this recipe! it’s one that all four of us enjoy. easy to make. to save time i brown the hamburger in a pan and then just put it loose on the buns.
Love that idea for loose meat Big Mac Sliders, Kelsey!
Want to try this but do you really cooked the sliders in the oven with the lettuce on? Every recipe I've seen, it looks like the lettuce goes in the oven with the sliders. Does it get soggy and wilty?
It didn't get wilted - I don't think it's in there long enough too be wilted. You could definitely add after the oven step, to be sure!
Making them for my Dad's 84th birthday dinner. His request. I made them for his 83rd!
Love that! Happy birthday to him!
The only reason I am not giving this recipe five stars is because I did not do the sheet pan burger. I did use the rest of the ingredients and the secret sauce recipe and it was seriously spot on and so good!!! I just forms a little smash Pattie’s then seasoned and seared them. Followed the rest of the steps and wow. Everyone in my house loved them ❤️❤️
Love your adaptations! Thanks for your comment and review 🙂
So you docked the recipe for a change you made? That’s idiotic.
So you removed a star because you decided to change the recipe? How does that make any sense?
I just made these and they are amazing!! I was nervous about the lettuce in the oven but it turned out just fine. I quit eating McDonalds YEARS ago but miss my favorite Big Mac. I had this saved for so long, and I wished I had made it sooner. It’s going to be a go to from now on. Even my picky husband ate them! Thanks for the delicious recipe! 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼❤️
So happy to hear this! Thanks for your comment 🙂
These were a BIG hit. My husband ate 6 of them at dinner and went back again. I asked him to save one so I could have it the next day. Thank you for an easy and delicious recipe.
Tastes amazing! And easy to make
These taste EXACTLY like the Big Mac …. Maybe even better!! And, so easy to make. Thank you for sharing.
