Key Ingredients

Rosé Wine - choose a dry or semi-dry rosé for the best balance of flavors. Avoid overly sweet rosés unless you prefer a sweeter cocktail.
Blanco Tequila - I prefer the blanco tequila in this recipe as it has a smoother taste (in my opinion!)
Lime juice - fresh lime juice is used here.
Agave - for sweetness!
Substitutions and Variations
Different Wine - you can use any kind of white or rosé wine in this. I think some Prosecco would be fun too to make it bubbly!
Add Orange Liqueur - a splash of Triple Sec would be delicious in these margaritas.
Switch Up the Rim - I like a salted or tajin lined glass rim, but you could do sugar, too!
How to Make Rosé Margaritas
Honestly, this recipe cannot be any easier! Simply add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake to combine. Pour into salt rimmed glasses and enjoy!
This recipe can also be made for a large group, using an entire bottle of wine. In that case, I would add all of the ingredients to a pitcher, mix, and then serve over ice.
Expert Tips
Serving Suggestions - rosé Margaritas are the perfect cocktail to sip on the patio for happy hour. They go great with Black Bean Corn Salsa, Mexican Street Corn Dip, Flank Steak Tacos, or Air Fryer Salmon Tacos!
Use chilled rosé - chill the rosé before mixing so your margaritas stay cold without becoming watered down.
Use Fresh Lime Juice - always use freshly squeezed lime juice for the brightest, freshest flavor.
Shaken, Not Stirred - shake the tequila, lime juice, and agave with ice before adding the rosé to keep the wine light and bubbly.
Add Frozen Fruit - freeze fresh berries or grapes to use as ice cubes that won't dilute the drink.
Garnish - garnish with lime wheels, fresh strawberries, raspberries, or rosemary sprigs for a beautiful presentation.
Rose Margaritas Recipe FAQs
Definitely. I've made these margaritas using sparkling rosé, vino verde, and pinot Grigio, all with delicious results.
As you can see, I used a cocktail glass. You can definitely use a margarita glass or a stemless wine glass, too.
Since that is one of the main ingredients in this recipe, I wouldn't. You really will taste the difference with fresh lime juice!
