I’ve never been much of a fan of pecan pie. Or I should say, I never WAS a fan of pecan pie….until I tried Chocolate Pecan Pie. It might seem dramatic to say it was life changing but truly, I cannot let a Thanksgiving go by now without making it! It is incredible and best yet – SO easy.
I guess when you add chocolate to it, magical things happen. It’s definitely rich, but that just means it goes even better with whipped cream. Or vanilla ice cream. Or milk. Believe me, I know. I’ve had it enough times to know!
As I said, this recipe for pecan pie with chocolate is so, so easy. I use a frozen deep dish pie crust, although you can certainly use a homemade recipe if you prefer. The other ingredients are chocolate chips, pecans, corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, salt and vanilla.
The first thing to do when making this pie is to par-bake the crust. Once that step is done, you simply sprinkle the chocolate chips and pecans on the bottom of the pie crust. Next, whisk together the corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, salt, and vanilla, and pour it over the pecans.
Lastly, pop it in the oven for about an hour!
