I’m usually a wine and beer gal. Â I’ll order a cocktail every now and then if we go out some place that’s known for good cocktails, but typically – I stick to wine and beer.
I wish I was more of a fun cocktail maker. Â Sometimes I try to be fancy and make things like Apple Cider Sangria, Grapefruit Moscow Mules, a Cranberry Vodka Smash, or in today’s case – White Russian’s!
I first had the idea to make a peppermint White Russian, and my imagination kind of spiraled from there. Â I eyed my carton of eggnog in the refrigerator and thought – well THAT would be good in a White Russian too!
Then I saw the bottle of Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur in our liquor cabinet and thought – what the heck, let’s do THREE White Russian recipes!
So what exactly is a White Russian? Â A classic White Russian has a combination of vodka, cream, and Kahlua. Â It’s creamy, delicious, and to me it’s a great after-dinner drink.
While all of my variations are quite different from each other, they are all incredible easy to make. Â The Peppermint White Russian is a combination of Peppermint Schnapps, vodka, Kahlua, and cream. Â I got fancy and dipped the rim in crushed candy canes which is super optional but also super cute. Â Your choice.
Next up, I added some eggnog to the White Russian, along with another fancy rim of nutmeg sugar. Â I think if I had to choose, this one was my favorite. Â I’m an eggnog lover through and through!
Last up, I did a White Chocolate Caramel White Russian. Â This one was definitely Marc’s favorite. Â It has a couple of special ingredients in it – Godiva’s White Chocolate Liqueur and caramel vodka. Â This one is definitely along the lines of dessert! Â For the glass, I simply drizzled some caramel sauce along the glass and allowed it to drip a little before pouring in the drink.
Each one of these would be a really fun holiday cocktail. Â Whether it’s for happy hour, a dessert drink, or a night cap – you’ll definitely be feeling merry!
