It's such a bummer when we get a craving for tacos, but there's no taco seasoning in the pantry. It wasn't until I realized that I can make my own Homemade Beef Taco Seasoning that taco night wasn't canceled every time the craving hit!
Not only is this homemade beef taco seasoning mix super easy to make, but it tastes just like the packet mixes.
Ingredients in Homemade Beef Taco Seasoning
Chili Powder
Cumin
Smoked Paprika
Onion Powder
Oregano
Garlic Powder
Salt
How to Make Homemade Beef Taco Seasoning
To start, simply combine all of the spices in a small bowl and stir together with a fork.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Then add the seasoning mix, stirring well to combine, along with ¼ cup of water. Cook until the water has cooked off.
Serve in tortillas, as taco rice bowl, or on a taco salad!
What to do with Beef Taco Meat
The possibilities are endless for beef taco meat! Of course, they can be used for traditional hard or soft tacos. Other ideas include using it for a taco salad, a taco rice bowl, on top of nachos, or the filling for beef enchiladas!

- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
