Easter Rice Krispie Treats
This is the absolute best recipe for Easter Rice Krispie Treats, as they are stuffed with marshmallows, Cadbury eggs, and spring colored sprinkles!
I love holiday treats, but they need to be EASY holiday treats. I just didn't get the natural talent of decorating cookies and cakes. So give me all of the holiday candy and festive sprinkles to make regular, every day treats into holiday treats!

Rice Krispies - or any type of crispy rice cereal you can find.
Marshmallows - this recipe uses a LOT of marshmallows! I use one 16 ounce bag and one 10 ounce bag of mini marshmallows
Butter - this recipe uses 1 cup of butter. I've made it using unsalted butter and salted butter, with similar results.
Vanilla Extract - this adds a little warmths of vanilla flavor to the Rice Krispie treats.
Mini Cadbury Eggs - these are super easy to find around Easter.
Variations
Different Candy - you can use a different candy than Cadbury eggs like M&M's or Reese's Pieces.
Different Cereal - you could use Spring Rice Krispies Cereal if you like, or other cereal like Kix, Cheerios, or Chex.
Step by Step Instructions
Photo 1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
Photo 2. Add the marshmallows.
Photo 3. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until the marshmallows are melted.
Photo 4. Stir in the rice Krispy cereal.
Photo 5. Once combined, add the additional marshmallows and Cadbury eggs.
Photo 6. Spread the mixture into a greased 9x13" baking dish. Let it cool at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
Expert Tips
Use Fresh Marshmallows - for best results, use marshmallows from a bag that hasn't been opened.
Don't Press Too Firmly Into Pan - to keep these chewy and soft, be careful to not press them too hard into the pan.
Extra Marshmallows - the addition of extra marshmallows makes these Rice Krispies super chewy and gooey!
Recipe FAQs
Yes! I loved the flavor and texture of the Cadbury eggs, but you could also use spring colored M&M's or just omit the candy.
Be sure to press them gently into the pan to prevent them from getting too hard. Then, be sure to cover them and keep them in an airtight container.

Instructions

- Add the 20 ounces of mini marshmallows to the butter and cook until melted, stirring constantly.
- Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract followed by the rice krispies.
- Gently stir in the additional mini marshmallows and Cadbury eggs.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13" baking dish.
- Gently press it down, being careful not to do it too firmly.
