Chocolate Chip Banana Scones
Chocolate Chip Banana Scones are the perfect combination of banana bread and chocolate in the form of scones! They are a delicious breakfast or brunch item and can be frozen to eat whenever you'd like!
I'm a big fan of scones but I don't make them nearly enough. At least, I didn't until I learned an AMAZING trick to making scones so much easier to make! You see, I never loved the process of cutting the butter into the flour mixture. However, I realized I could use a cheese grater to grate the butter, making it so much easier to work with! I'm not sure if I should be happy or afraid for my waistline that I'll be making scones all of the time now. Especially these Chocolate Chip Banana Scones - they are so delightful!
How to Make Perfect Chocolate Chip Banana Scones
Use Cold Butter - using cold butter ensures that the scones puff up as opposed to falling over and spreading out. This recipe starts with cold butter and if you want to ensure even further that the scones won't fall over, pop the baking sheet into the freezer for 10 minutes prior to baking them.
Don't Over-mix - Over-mixing a batter can make the scones tough due to over-working the gluten.
Not Too Sticky - if the dough seems sticky (it shouldn't, but measuring differences could result in it), add a little more flour, 1 tablespoon at a time, to the dough.
