Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and grease a 9x13" baking dish with cooking spray.
Make the Big Mac sauce by combining all Big Mac sauce ingredients in a medium bowl and stirring until well combined. Set aside.
In a large skillet, add the ground beef and onion. Cook over medium-high heat, breaking up the ground beef as it cooks, for about 10 minutes, or until the ground beef is browned and the onion is softened.
Add 1 cup of the Big Mac sauce to the ground beef mixture and stir to combine.
Place the ground beef mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Top with American cheese slices.
Top the cheese with tater tots.
Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes. The casserole should be hot throughout and the tots should be golden brown.
Serve sprinkled with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and additional Big Mac sauce. Enjoy!
