  • 2.5-3 lbs sirloin steak cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 yellow onion sliced
  • 1 ounce packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 4 tablespoon butter sliced thinly
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • Sprinkle with gravy mix and beef broth and stir well to combine.
  • Add slices of butter on top of the steak and onion mixture.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • For the last 30 minutes, stir in 1 tablespoon of cornstarch that has been dissolved in 2 tablespoons of water.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Sear the Steak - if you want a nice brown appearance on the outside of the steak pieces, you can sear them in some oil on the stovetop. Just don't cook them all of the way through.
Storage - store any leftover steak bites in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
Don’t overcook - Even though it’s a slow cooker recipe, steak can dry out if cooked too long. Aim for low and slow for 6-7 hours, just until tender.
Cut steak evenly - Uniform pieces (about 1-inch cubes) cook more evenly and stay tender.
