Ingredients

  • 40-45 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil, then place saltines in single layer on foil.
  • Melt butter and sugar in medium pot over medium heat.  Boil for 3 minutes.  Pour over saltines.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 5 minutes.  Immediately out of oven, evenly sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 5 minutes, then spread to smooth with a knife.  Sprinkle with nuts.
  • Let chill in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.  Remove from fridge and cut or break into pieces.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

Line your pan with foil - Toffee sticks, and the foil saves you from scrubbing.
Let it sit out before cutting - If it's coming straight from the fridge, let it sit out for about 15 minutes so it doesn't crumble as much. If it does crumble, it tastes just as good.
